BRIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Two Decades of Vibes

The Brive Music Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024. Over the past two decades, it has skyrocketed from a local event to one of the premier urban music festivals in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, drawing music lovers from the area and beyond.

A Star-Studded History

Born 20 years ago in the heart of Brive, this festival has made more and more of an impact, earning accolades and breaking attendance records. It has become a staple of the French music scene, known for its urban charm, family-friendly environment, and unique appeal to female festival-goers—74% of attendees in 2023 were women.

Each year, the festival boasts an impressive lineup of both French and international artists, providing four days of live music and over 24 hours of concerts. Performers have included international acts and legends such as Sting, Sean Paul, Black Eyed Peas,Shaka Ponk, and Johnny Clegg. The immersive setting creates a unique experience for the 12,000 nightly attendees, blending the best of music with the warmth of a close-knit community.

The Heartbeat of Brive

One of the festival’s most endearing qualities is its intimate and convivial atmosphere. The sense of welcome at the Brive Festival is off the charts, making it feel like a festival on a human scale despite its growing size.

This is reflected in the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. The festival’s charm was officially recognised when it was voted “Best French Music Festival 2022” in the under 60,000 festival-goers category. The 2023 edition saw a record-breaking 44,500 attendees, solidifying its status as a must-see event.

Now, affectionately nicknamed the ‘Lovely’ Brive festival – its name encapsulates the festival’s spirit—a place to enjoy great music with loved ones and friends in a safe and welcoming environment.

When you are not partying, Brive is also a great city for restaurants and shopping with a lively town centre all year round full of bars and coffee shops. It’s a great base to explore the surrounding villages and all the sites of the Dordogne Valley.
