Dans les Vignes de Glanes

This walk gives you a taste of the riches of this area as it winds through the vineyards and walnut groves. In 893, there is a reference in the cartulary of Beaulieu Abbey (in the Corrèze) to the effect that in the place called Glanes, there was already an agricultural estate planted with vines ! Nowadays, the modest vineyards planted on the village slopes form one of the smallest "Vin de Pays" areas in France : thirty or so hectares lovingly tended by eight producers in cooperation. Gamay, Merlot and Ségalin grapes provide red and rosé wines to delight our palates. Delight for the eyes is also provided, by the village itself and the vineyards.
