Lentillac et la chapelle de Verdale

Discover two villages, Lentillac, once the seat of the commune, and Verdale, with its rich heritage, then two streams, the Cayla and the Tolerme, defended by narrow gorges.

Can a tormented relief encourage conflict? In the 19th century, the site of this hike was the scene of a veritable village war. Lentillac, today a modest hamlet of twenty houses, was then an important parish spread over three plateaux separated by deep gorges. In 1820, tired of transporting their dead along miles of uneven roads to reach the church of Lentillac, the inhabitants of Lacam d'Ourcet obtained their own parish.
