Les Hauts de Sousceyrac

This path enables you to explore the charms of the Ségala landscape. It follows streams, goes through woods and forgotten hamlets where Time seems to have stood still. Deep in the heart of the Haut Ségala in the Lot, Sousceyrac, a rugged, proud feudal settlement in the Middle Ages has kept reminders of its past. The old town is set around the "carrayrat" (a street wide enough to allow carts to pass along it), with a fortified gate at either end. Its houses still have the gothic arches of their former shop arcades and large mullioned windows. The modern town is concentrated along the road encircling the settlement, once the defensive ditch, and around the Place des Condamines.
